Cheri Balogh Director of Children's Ministry Contact: cheri@libertylakechurch.com
Cheri was born and raised in Reno, NV. She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno and also spent one year at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst as an exchange student. She moved to Liberty Lake with her husband Mike in 1994. She and Mike have been married for 20 years and have three children, Brett, Jake and Alisha. Cheri began her ministry at LLCC as a member of the Liberty Lake Christian School and Child Care Board of Directors. She also served as a volunteer at LLCC in the nursery, and through the years was involved with teaching Children's Church. Cheri was on the committee that created Kid's R.O.C.K. and has been in her current position as Director of Children's Ministry since 2007.
Cheri's prayer is that our children will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. She prays also that our children will be inspired by the volunteers who give their time and love to them and that they would share their love for Christ with their family, friends and community.
Ryan Monson Director of Fellowship Contact: rmonson@libertylakechurch.com
Ryan grew up in what he calls God's Country (Lynden, WA). His walk with the Lord began when as a 5 year old he asked Jesus into his heart at Vacation Bible School. Since college Ryan has been involved in different church ministries, including youth leader, summer camp leader, small group facilitator, drama team and elder in the various churches he was a part of. Ryan moved to Eastern Washington with his family in 2003 and has been a part of LLCC since 2008.
Ryan earned his B.A in Communications/Business from Seattle Pacific University and is also a graduate in Biblical Studies from Multnomah Biblical Seminary. He met his wife Cheryl at SPU and they married shortly after graduation. They now enjoy family life with their three children.
Ryan's hope is that LLCC's welcoming family atmosphere will continue to be developed, with a heartbeat to love our community towards Christ. In other words, to find the lost and love the found.
Denise Kolva Director of Discipleship Contact: denise@libertylakechurch.com
Denise was born in Wisconsin, moved to Portland as a baby and then continued to move around (she went to 5 different grade schools!) until 5th grade when her family settled in Lewiston, ID. She was raised both Catholic and Unitarian, but always felt like there was something missing. She met her husband Bob after college and he introduced her to Christ. Bob and Denise have attended three different churches in the 25 years of their marriage and in each church Denise was involved in various aspects of children's ministry. After attending LLCC for a couple of years, Denise felt God shifting her heart from children's ministry to adult ministry.
Denise has a nursing degree from Boise State University. She has always loved to teach and spent 5 years teaching at East Valley's Continuous Curriculum School. She developed a language arts and spelling program and then trained the school's teachers in the program. She also taught Latin for five years. She has been married to Bob for 25 years and they have two grown children. In addition to her ministry at the church, Denise is also a part time bookkeeper. She loves to read, bike, play racquetball, and visit with people.
Denise's vision for the discipleship program is to offer a variety of classes throughout the year that meet the needs of the members of our church. She hopes to see people choosing to grow in Christ-like character so that they will begin to disciple others to grow in Christ-like character until it is a natural part of LLCC. She envisions a program where people are taught to Lead Like Christ and fully embrace these leadership qualities to use within the church, their families, and their work environments. She sees small groups as the foundational discipleship program where people are encouraged and taught to turn to the Bible for answers.
Tad Cochran Church Resource Manager Contact: tcochran@libertylakechurch.com
Tad first accepted Christ at a Good News Club in Colfax in the 1st or 2nd grade. He visited recently with his leader who lives in Spokane now and says she is still a spirit filled, joyous, positive lady who has experienced many tragedies. In Jr. High and High School (Auburn and Selah) Tad says he was very rebellious. He married his wife Colleen at the age of 19. He earned his bachelor's degree from CWU and received a Regular Army Commission in 1989. He was later branch qualified in both Military Intelligence and Special Forces (Green Berets). After leaving the Army, Tad became involved in Young Life for several years as a leader. He served on the praise and worship team and as a janitor at Graham Emmanuel Baptist Church. (Tad notes there were 23 toilets in that building...) He also coached pee-wee footfall and went on Sparky hikes.
Tad earned his B.S. in Business Ed. from CWU in 1989 and a Bachelors in Business/Accounting from EWU in 2005. He attended John F. Tad's desire is to develop and maintain a solid accounting and reporting system for LLCC and SSCSCC as well as develop and provide meaningful financial information for the stewardship of all the resources God provides. He would also like to be part of a Personal Financial Ministry that biblically educates people on how to be great stewards of what God as provided them.
