Membership
Article 1. - Membership Section 1 Reception of members This church shall receive as members those of any age who have signed the Profession of Faith, indicating acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. At a regular Sunday service, new members shall be received by the congregation. Section 2 Membership Review It shall be the responsibility of the Board of Elders to review the voting membership list of the church periodically. The Board of Elders shall be authorized, upon the majority of vote of the Board, to place any member on the non-voting membership list who has been, for a period of one year, consistently absent from worship and physically able to attend, or fails to communicate with the church, or fails to reply to communications. With renewed spiritual interest in the ministry of the Church, the individual may be restored to voting status by a majority vote of the Board of Elders. Section 3 Voting No member under the age of sixteen (16) shall be entitled to vote on any matter. Each voting member shall be entitled to one vote and voting by proxy shall not be permitted. Section 4 Equal Rights The interest of each member shall be equal to that of any other member and no member can acquire any interest which will entitle him to any greater voice, vote, authority or interest in the church than any other member. Section 5 Transfer When a member in good standing desires to unite with some other church, he shall be given a Letter of Recommendation by the Sanctuary, addressed to the church with which he wishes to unite. By this act, the transferee's membership shall be terminated in this church. Section 6 Termination Membership in the church may also be terminated by resignation submitted in writing to the Secretary of the church, by death, or by recommendation of the Board of Elders based on scriptural authority.
