Small Groups
What is the purpose of small groups?
Small groups are an integral part of who we are as a church. Practically speaking, there will never be a way for the staff or elders to personally minister to everyone who attends our church. That's why we place such a high premium on small group life. It's how we minister effectively.
We believe that life transformation occurs as we are growing in our relationship with Christ. In small groups, we study God's Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It's also where we pray, care for one another, and are missed if we don't show up. Small groups provide us with the opportunity to connect with others and grow in our relationship with Christ.
Life transformation is not so much about "doing" as it is about "becoming" - becoming more like Christ. It's a life-long adventure that takes patience, commitment, and intentional focus. It's not what we do along the way that is most important. What really matters is who we are becoming in the process. Ultimately the Christian life is about building a deeper relationship with Jesus as the Holy Spirit transforms us from the inside out. As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him and reflect His glory even more. (2 Corinthians 3:18b NLT)
Paul taught the Corinthians that some plant the seeds, others water them, but God makes them grow (1 Corinthians 3:6). Group leaders have the privilege of creating environments in which seeds of faith are planted and watered in the lives of those they lead, while trusting God with the growth. Our leaders play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our mission to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ!
We invite you to explore our small groups as you take your next step of spiritual growth.
Why should I attend a Small Group?
Small groups exist to help us grow in our relationship with God and others. We may be doing great in our Christian walk right now, but by being in relationships with fellow believers, we will experience even more of the abundant life Jesus has to offer. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: if one falls down, his friend can help him up. If you are ready to grow in Christ through relationships with other believers, become connected to others in the church, and belong to something life-transforming, then maybe it's time to get involved in a small group!
What is a Small Group?
A small group is typically made up of six to twelve people who meet regularly during the week to study biblical truths and connect with one another. Each group has a leader and/or host. Groups meet in a number of different locations including coffee shops, restaurants, the church, and homes.
Small Groups are a place you can experience life-transforming relationships. The setting is informal and the discussions are fun. We grow together through practical application of God's Word and seek to impact the world around us by serving others and sharing the gospel. We care for each other through prayer, meeting needs, and building friendships.
Small Groups are where we are challenged to grow, to learn, to care for others, and to become effective witnesses in our world.
