Pastor Dave C. Butler
Pastor David C. Butler, Senior Pastor Contact: dave@libertylakechurch.com
Pastor Dave grew up in the Pacific Northwest and became a believer during his high school years. His desire to learn more about Christ and the Bible took him to California for a total of 18 years.
About a year after graduating from Talbot Theological Seminary, in which time he went to Ireland as a missionary, he began leading a youth ministry in La Mesa, a suburb of San Diego. Shortly after moving to La Mesa, he met and married his wife Kathy.
In La Mesa, God prepared and led Pastor Dave to a preaching and teaching pastorate. This new role led Dave and his family to a pastorate San Bernardino and then to Liberty Lake.
Dave is ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America.
Personal: Kathy and Dave have five children, Marcus, David, Stephen, Michael and Rachel. Even though Dave’s alma mater is the University of Washington, he loves being a Dawg in Coug country. He believes that God has planned a significant ministry for Liberty Lake Community Church through reaching the Inland Empire with the grace and transforming love of Jesus Christ.
Andrew Fouché Andrew Fouché, Director of Worship and Youth Ministry Contact: andrew@libertylakechurch.com
Andrew spent 4 years with Youth With A Mission where he led missions teams to various countries in East Asia. He’s been to 11 different countries, with China being his favorite. Prior to joining the staff at Liberty Lake Church he served at First Covenant Church of Eureka in an associate role.
It is Andrew’s hope for the Youth Ministry to grow disciples, reach out to those who don’t know God, and fulfill the purposes that God has laid out for us through his word. It is Andrew’s prayer for worship, as it pertains to our church, that we would come to truly know God as the object of our worship and that we would live lives of worship that include, but extend far beyond, just singing songs on Sunday morning.
Andrew is married to Jessica and they have 2 sons and a daughter.
Steve Allen Director of Fellowship and Outreach Contact: steve@libertylakechurch.com
Steve is a lifelong Spokane guy graduating from CV in 1984
and WSU in 1988. Having married
his high school sweetheart, Carrie, he taught high school English for 19 years
at Rogers and Mt. Spokane before God led him to full-time vocational ministry. He was the youth pastor at
Valley4th and most recently a mission mobilizer. Steve founded and led Mission ConneXion Inland Northwest and
has a heart to see every tribe, tongue, and nation know the name of Jesus. Steve
and Carrie have five children (Grace, Hannah, Jacob, Lily, and Abby) three of
whom are adopted from China. Through the adoptions, his heart has also been burdened by the plight of
the orphan around the world.
As pastor of fellowship and outreach, Steve’s heart is to see people get
in the doors of LLC and knit into the church family where each person can find
a place to worship, fellowship, serve, and be equipped. Then his vision is to get people out
the doors to meet the needs of people in the region and around the world. By seeing people fulfill the Great
Commandment and the Great Commission, we will see the world around us change,
and our lives change as well.
Cheri Balogh Director of Children's Ministry Contact: cheri@libertylakechurch.com
Cheri
was born and raised in Reno, NV. She graduated from the University of
Nevada Reno and also spent one year at the University of Massachusetts,
Amherst as an exchange student. She moved to Liberty Lake with her
husband Mike in 1994. She and Mike have been married for 20 years and
have three children, Brett, Jake and Alisha. Cheri began her ministry at
LLCC as a member of the Liberty Lake Christian School and Child Care
Board of Directors. She also served as a volunteer at LLCC in the
nursery, and through the years was involved with teaching Children's
Church. Cheri was on the committee that created Kid's R.O.C.K. and has
been in her current position as Director of Children's Ministry since
2007.
Cheri's prayer is that our children will come to know Jesus
Christ as their Lord and Savior. She prays also that our children will
be inspired by the volunteers who give their time and love to them and
that they would share their love for Christ with their family, friends
and community.
Denise Kolva Director of Discipleship Contact: denise@libertylakechurch.com
Denise
was born in Wisconsin, moved to Portland as a baby and then continued
to move around (she went to 5 different grade schools!) until 5th grade
when her family settled in Lewiston, ID. She was raised both Catholic
and Unitarian, but always felt like there was something missing. She met
her husband Bob after college and he introduced her to Christ. Bob and
Denise have attended three different churches in the 25 years of their
marriage and in each church Denise was involved in various aspects of
children's ministry. After attending LLCC for a couple of years, Denise
felt God shifting her heart from children's ministry to adult ministry.
Denise
has a nursing degree from Boise State University. She has always loved
to teach and spent 5 years teaching at East Valley's Continuous
Curriculum School. She developed a language arts and spelling program
and then trained the school's teachers in the program. She also taught
Latin for five years. She has been married to Bob for 25 years and they
have two grown children. In addition to her ministry at the church,
Denise is also a part time bookkeeper. She loves to read, bike, play
racquetball, and visit with people.
Denise's vision for the
discipleship program is to offer a variety of classes throughout the
year that meet the needs of the members of our church. She hopes to see
people choosing to grow in Christ-like character so that they will begin
to disciple others to grow in Christ-like character until it is a
natural part of LLCC. She envisions a program where people are taught
to Lead Like Christ and fully embrace these leadership qualities to use
within the church, their families, and their work environments. She sees
small groups as the foundational discipleship program where people are
encouraged and taught to turn to the Bible for answers.
Julie Quirk Administrative Assistant Contact: admin@libertylakechurch.com
Julie
was born in Tacoma. She moved to Spokane at the age of 7 and lived
between Spokane and Bellevue until she was 15. She has been in Spokane
ever since. She was raised going to church occasionally but did not have
a personal relationship with Jesus. Both Julie and her husband both
became believers in 1983. They attended an Easter Service at Calvary
Chapel and accepted the Lord. They came to LLCC in 1992 and both were
very involved in children's ministry and VBS for many years. Julie began
working as an administrative assistant in 2004.
Julie married
her husband Dean in 1980. They have 4 grown children, three sons and one
daughter. They also have one grandchild and another on the way. Julie
loves spending time with her family, babysitting her grandson,
scrapbooking, reading, and going on day road trips with her husband.
