Center Hours of Operation

The Center operates Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. — 6:00 p.m. year round. 

Preschool and Prekindergarten operate Monday—Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  Children three through six-years-old by August 31, may enroll in two-day (Monday—Tuesday), three-day (Wednesday-Thursday-Friday), or five-day sessions.

Kindergarten is in session Monday—Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  When there is sufficient interest and enrollment, an afternoon class will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Children must be five years old by August 31 to be enrolled in Kindergarten. 

School Calendar
Preschool, Prekindergarten and Kindergarten follow the CVSD calendar, except that SSCSCC does operate on CV Curriculum Days.  SSCSCC schedules two Curriculum and Professional Development Days for the teachers in the Fall.  There will be no school at SSCSCC on those days.  The Child Care will be open.

The Center will be closed on the following days:

• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Day and Christmas Eve
• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day (July 4th)
• Staff Day (First Friday of August)

When the holiday occurs on Saturday or Sunday, the Center will be closed on the closest corresponding weekday.

The school and child care reserves the right to close for days other than the dates listed above in the event of an emergency (fire, flood, electrical outages, etc.), weather, calendar changes, or lack of students.  This decision is at the discretion of the Director or Administrator in charge.  Parents will be notified as soon as possible so that they may make other arrangements for the care of their children.

SSCSCC will follow the weather-related school closure of Central Valley School District (CVSD).  In the event of extreme weather or otherwise unsafe conditions, the Center will be closed for school and closed for child care if CVSD announces it will close.
